CabinetFit / Privacy

Privacy policy

What stays on your device, how optional Apple services work, and what happens when you contact support.

Your projects are stored locally. Voice dictation, system backups and files you choose to share may involve Apple or other services. Support messages are sent only when you contact us.

1. Who provides CabinetFit

CabinetFit is provided by Jarosław Drabek, Poland. For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@jarekdrabek.pl. Jarosław Drabek is the controller of personal data received through support correspondence.

This policy covers the CabinetFit iOS/iPadOS app and its support and privacy pages. It distinguishes data stored on your device from information you choose to send for support.

2. Projects and client information

CabinetFit stores room models, floor plans, dimensions, project names, notes, drawings, photos and document attachments in the app’s local storage. Client records may contain names, phone numbers, addresses and notes that you enter.

The app does not require an account and does not automatically send this project or client content to the developer. There is no developer-operated project server or cloud synchronisation service. You decide what to enter and are responsible for having permission to process other people’s information.

3. Camera, photos and voice permissions

  • Camera and room scanning: used to scan room geometry and take project photos.
  • Photos and files: used when you select images, models or documents to attach or import. Selected items are copied into your project.
  • Microphone and speech recognition: used when you choose to dictate a note.

You can decline optional permissions or change them in device Settings. Features requiring a declined permission will be unavailable; typed notes remain an alternative to dictation.

4. Voice dictation and Apple

CabinetFit uses Apple’s Speech framework to turn speech into note text. When on-device recognition is supported, the app requests local recognition. Otherwise audio may be sent to Apple’s servers for recognition, with your speech-recognition permission. The developer does not receive this audio through the app and the app does not save a separate voice recording as a project attachment. The resulting note text is stored with the project.

Apple handles data processed by its services under its own terms and privacy information. See Apple’s Siri, Dictation & Privacy information. To avoid app dictation, type your notes and disable microphone or speech-recognition permission.

5. Exports, sharing and backups

A PDF or model file is shared only when you use the app’s export or sharing controls. The recipient, app or storage service you choose may receive the file and anything included in it, such as client details, notes or photos. Those services have their own privacy practices.

iOS or iPadOS may include local app data in a device backup, including iCloud Backup, depending on your settings. This is a system feature, not CabinetFit cloud synchronisation. Manage these copies through the relevant device, backup or storage service.

6. App analytics, advertising and purchases

The current CabinetFit app does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking or in-app purchases. It does not sell project data or use it for advertising. Apple may process App Store, TestFlight or device diagnostic information under your Apple settings and Apple’s policies; this is separate from project storage in CabinetFit.

7. Information you send for support

If you email support, the developer receives your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to answer your request, investigate the issue and maintain the app. Do not send unnecessary personal or confidential client information.

Support messages are handled through email services. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in providing support and resolving issues (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or taking steps at your request or performing a contract where applicable (Article 6(1)(b)). Information is kept for as long as needed for the request, related follow-up and applicable legal obligations; it is not kept indefinitely without a reason.

8. Retention, deletion and your rights

Local project data remains on your device until you remove it using the app or delete the app’s local data. Offloading the app can preserve its documents. Files already exported, email attachments and backups are separate copies and must be managed separately. The developer cannot retrieve or remotely delete projects stored only on your device.

For personal data held in support correspondence, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing, or request portability where applicable. Contact contact@jarekdrabek.pl. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority, including Poland’s UODO. These rights are subject to the conditions of applicable law.

9. These web pages

These CabinetFit pages are hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitor IP addresses for security purposes. See GitHub Pages data collection and the GitHub Privacy Statement.

The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate visit statistics. These statistics concern website visits, not activity inside the CabinetFit app. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. These pages do not include advertising trackers or contact forms. Email links open your chosen email application.

Hosting, analytics, email and Apple service providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Their privacy policies describe their processing and transfer safeguards.

10. Changes and contact

This policy describes the current app. If data handling changes, this page and relevant App Store privacy information will be updated. The date above identifies the latest revision.
